European Studies, Hellenic Studies, and Hungarian Studies are boutique programs offering courses in history, politics, languages, literature, and culture at the University of Toronto. Our students enjoy a personalized approach as part of a tight-knit and vibrant community and benefit from access to the resources and activities of the Centre for European, Russian, and Eurasian Studies (CERES) and the Munk School of Global Affairs & Public Policy. Students can choose to enroll in European Studies as a major or a minor.
Our programs offer a rigorous and exciting interdisciplinary education, as well as a strong emphasis on experiential learning. Students will develop working fluency in one or more European languages and receive opportunities to participate in various field courses in Europe.
Alumni of our undergraduate programs often continue to study European topics at the graduate level at CERES or comparable institutions. Others go on to work in various government and non-government organizations, as well as in the private sector.
Please see our attached brochure and links below for further information, and do not hesitate to contact our office with any questions about the program or the application process!
We look forward to seeing you at our live session.
