This is for people with lived experience of difference or disability,
and/or those who wish to be a more effective ally.
In this poster session, participants will be invited to critically think,
consider new information, practice their reflexivity and integrate the
conversation into their own lived experience, as they see fit.
In this session participants will:
Explore assimilation bias from a number of perspectives.
Consider how assimilation bias may be relevant in their own
experience.
Learn about the characteristics of inclusion and belonging
(according to the research to date).
Engage in reflexivity practices exploring assimilation bias,
inclusion and wellbeing.
Throughout this process in teh form of a poster, we will encourage participants to consider
the impact of "assimilation bias" and inclusion on their
wellbeing.
We will explore how assimilation bias impacts participants and how to improve
the inclusion of our whole self (in settings of our choice) for greater
wellbeing.
