The Office of Student Experience and Wellbeing has staff who share the lived experience of Black students, and they are happy to support your transition into U of T Scarborough. It’s easy to set up appointments with our Academic & Learning Strategist for academic support, Black Student Engagement Coordinator to learn how to get involved on campus, and a Personal Counsellor to maintain good mental health.
Some of the events you may be interested in joining us for are our Black Students’ Welcome in September, networking events with Black professionals, and U of T’s Black Graduation. You can join one of the over 200 clubs at U of T Scarborough, and perhaps one that is part of our Black students’ Club Hub, such as African Impact Initiative, Future Black Physicians, or Caribbean Connections. Find UTSC community while volunteering in the Scarborough community as a part of the Imani Academic Mentorship program and engage with your Scarborough Campus Students’ Union (SCSU) Racialized Student Collective which seeks to combat racism and colonialism with and for Racialized, Black and Indigenous students.
The Imani Academic Mentorship Program is dedicated to black youth in the East Scarborough community. The focus of this program is to connect black youth to opportunities which allow them to explore post-secondary education (university, college, other).
