Welcome to the Health & Wellness Centre at the University of Toronto Scarborough
The Health & Wellness Centre is a team of health care providers and administrative professionals who provide medical, nursing, counselling, and health promotion services to University of Toronto Scarborough students. Any student with a current student card (TCard) and a valid health card (OHIP for domestic students, UHIP for international students, or Provincial Health Card for students from a Canadian province outside of Ontario) can use our services. We are here to support students to realize their potential with hope, health, and healing.
In addition to one on one appointments with a doctor, nurse or counsellor, the Health & Wellness Centre provides group therapy, workshops, peer support and events that support our students in their overall wellbeing. Students can also volunteer in our Wellness Peer Programs, who work in teams to share knowledge and information on services and health topics to foster a healthy community on campus. The Health & Wellness Centre collaborates with departments across UTSC, student groups and community partners to build capacity and awareness around various health issues such as mental health, sexual health, nutrition, and substance use, with the priority of creating a supportive community.
Our mission is to provide student-focused care and programming that is compassionate, culturally responsive and evidence-based. We support students’ in achieving their goals by:
- promoting self-awareness,
- cultivating and strengthening partnerships,
- fostering health, resilience and wellbeing.
