Exoneration Rates Must Rise

As technology is becoming more advanced, more DNA evidence is being found from crimes old and new alike. The problem is the DNA from this evidence doesn’t match up with the person put behind bars for the crime. Innocence Project is one group that is working to right these numerous crimes, where it is not too late to do so, and to exonerate the individuals falsely marked as criminals.  

In my designs, I aimed to bring out as much of this idea of clear evidence being ignored, to show how unjust it is to mark a person as guilty despite having no truly incriminating evidence. Likewise, I tried to bring out the focus of the individual as a reminder that those who are still wrongly imprisoned all have their own unique lives that they are missing out on. As fellow human beings, we alone can assist in righting these wrongs.
