@UofTBrassThe U of T Brass program boasts an excellent, well-rounded curriculum that provides an exceptional student experience that is flexible and personalized. Our distinguished faculty bring a wide variety of professional experience as educators, performers, entrepreneurs, and researchers to enrich the learning environment. The depth and breadth associated with the courses allows for individual nurturing and artistic growth. Small class sizes and a closely knit community with ample opportunities for collaboration across the years are highlights of the program.
Performance ensembles are an integral part of the performance experience, exposing the
students to a broad range of conducting and coaching styles. The brass area includes large and small ensemble experience with a symphony orchestra and two wind ensembles as well as smaller chamber ensembles coached by faculty members. Students also have the opportunity to perform in regular master classes hosted by faculty members and visiting artists such as Timothy Smith, James Somerville and the Canadian Brass.
