Dear Ernst & Young Hiring Manager
As an ambitious new graduate, learning your organizational values of Ernst & Young such as building a better world has propelled this job application of mine. Hence, I am applying to the WFA Learning Lab North team opportunity which I found on EY’s career webpage. To display my suitability for this position, I will highlight my content development, copy-editing and other relevant skills from two distinct positions I occupied as a Research Assistant for firstly a mentorship program and secondly a business research course at the University of Toronto Mississauga’s (UTM) – Institute of Communication, Culture, Information & Technology (ICCIT) department.
Firstly, I led the launching of the ICCIT Student Mentorship Program (ISMP) which benefitted over 500 undergraduates, newly admitted into the ICCIT department. I oversaw the entire program operations for a complete cycle starting from 6-page program proposal to ending with a robust 17-page continuity plan. By combining my technology and facilitation skills with the ability to extract requirements, conduct in-depth research, consolidate information, present findings and lead teams, the program was successfully implemented within a 2-month time constraint. This included managing multiple stakeholders, shifting timelines, developing marketing content and handling communications for the hiring, training, matching, and supporting over 25 mentors during the year. My second Research Assistant position occurred simultaneously and focused on the re-design and digital delivery a Business Research Methods course (CCT203). I consulted with multiple professors and students from other research-based courses and used past syllabi as guides to rewrite and edit the syllabus with the course instructor. The digital delivery included the implementation and maintenance of the Canva LMS software, providing in-class I.T support and writing documents that expounded on topics students found difficulty grasping. Lastly, I reviewed and edited all course assignments and created midterm questions around topics such as EDI and BIPOC initiatives to be more intentional with learning outcomes. Both my Research assistant positions occurred whilst being the President and Founder of an award-winning student organization called the Diversity Business League.
To conclude, I am confident in my ability to exceed expectations. Therefore, it would be an honour to have an interview and expound on my abilities to fill the Learning Lab Content Producer Consultant position. Hence, I look forward to interacting more and bringing value to the firm. I can be emailed at [email protected] and my mobile number is 289-314-0951. References are available upon request.
A sincere thank you for your time and I look forward to hearing back.
