Go Zero Food waste is a
local campaign hosted by Greenpeace Toronto that works to raise awareness about
food waste and how it impacts the environment, our climate, and our food
system. It also aims to put pressure on grocery stores not to throw away large
amounts of edible food but instead divert them to local food banks. Ann Foo, a
Greenpeace volunteer and the founder of Go Zero Food Waste together with other
volunteers worked to create an informational video that can be watched to learn
more about this issue. Greenpeace Canada has also provided petitions and
actions that can be taken to help create tangible change in our society
concerning food waste.
