This research project will explore the similarities and differences with the top 10 school shootings in America. Specifically, how the population, age group, layout and location of the schools, played a part in making the victim tally higher than other school shootings. Comparisons of these incidents will be made to analyze potential patterns in offending behaviors, target-ability of a school, and ensure the future safety of our students. I also aim to explore the effects of a school’s environment and gun accessibility in playing a role in school shootings. The results of this research can enhance our understanding of how school shootings can be better prevented.
