Emergency Nursing Burnout and Turnover Intention

The purpose of this quantitative study is to examine the impact of burnout among nurses in the emergency department and turnover intention.

Burnout is associated with nurse turnover. Research clarifying the underlying mechanism may provide a different means to decrease the impact of burnout on nurse turnover and increase the retention rate to enhance the quality of patient care.

The results of this study provide new insights into how the intention of nurses to leave their job is related to burnout. The data collected helps to develop tools and interventions to reduce the risk of nurses exiting their careers. This study's findings have interesting implications for nursing management and workplace interventions to retain nurses and enhance the quality of patient care.
