Welcome to the Department of Sociology at the University of Toronto Mississauga. Our research and teaching expertise covers a diverse range of topics that are central to understanding and explaining the state of society and social change. At the undergraduate level, we offer Minor, Major, and Specialist programs in Sociology and Major and Specialist programs in Criminology, Law & Society. Our undergraduate programs build skills in quantitative and qualitative data management and analysis, expository writing, and both the development and critique of sociological theories. Through our broad range of course offerings, we aim to prepare students for opportunities for further study in graduate or professional programs, as well as to give them the intellectual tools required to be engaged and informed citizens.
