The IRHR program is one of only a few industrial labour relations programs in North America. Students learn about employment and work from several critical angles including employment law, organizational behaviour, and the various roles and functions of human resources. Many of our students have gone into HR-related careers in trade unions, government, and the private sector. Employee health and wellness is a growing field of interest, as is working as a consultant (e.g., talent acquisition and nurturing). Also, now that COVID has forced many changes in the workplace, our students are learning how both employers and employees can best deal with these challenges as we move forward. Graduates of our programs can fit into many roles, since the skills they learn will be useful in many careers - even those which are not specifically HR-related!
