Students in the TrackOne, Undeclared (T1) program spend their first year taking a wide range of courses in order to get a good sense of what they like and where they want to take their studies. This approach helps students discover their interests within U of T Engineering while developing a strong foundation in key engineering principles. After successfully completing TrackOne in good academic standing, students are guaranteed a spot in the Core 8 program of your choice — Chemical, Civil, Computer, Electrical, Industrial, Materials, Mechanical or Mineral — for the remaining three years of their Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) degree.
One very unique aspect of the TrackOne program is the Introduction to Engineering course. Here, students are able to explore how each engineering field contributes to society, which helps them choose their best fit within the Core 8 programs at the end of first year. TrackOne students are also supported by a dedicated T1 advisor who is available to assist every step of the way. One thing to note, the TrackOne curriculum is designed to parallel the courses taken by first-year students in the Core 8 programs. This allows T1 students to transition smoothly into second year.
