WeBWorK is an open-source homework system that is hosted online for students and teachers to use in math and science courses. It was developed and has been maintained by mathematicians since 1994. The goal behind WeBWorK was to provide the community of mathematics with a flexible and mathematically capable online homework system. This platform is supported by both the Math Association of America and the National Science Foundation. It comes with an Open Problem Library containing over 20,000 homework problems. Most of the problems target undergraduate students involved in math and science courses. Some of the supported courses on this platform include college algebra, linear algebra, complex analysis, differential equations, discrete mathematics, single and multivariable calculus, and probability and statistics. Over 700 colleges and universities from large research institutions to small community colleges currently use WeBWorK for providing homework problems.
The purpose of this project was to tag the headers of math problems and use various GIT platforms to upload the math problems to the online open problem library platform WeBWorK.
