Many homeowners and renters are not aware of the resources being neglected, as well as the economic atrophy present. This project exists to illustrate the cost-benefit analysis between modern green household items when compared to their outdated, inefficient counterparts. The common perceptions of consumers in the United States leads to the avoidance of purchasing new appliances, however a simple investment of $100 could change their lifetime budget. These products could save families hundreds, even thousands of dollars over the products allotted span, essentially creating “passive income”. Data has been collected and organized into charts to illustrate these cost savings for the general public. Alongside, will be the greatest opportunity gain per product, which shows the savings per dollar for each product (a low flow shower head can save a family of four $52/year costing $18= $2.74 saved/dollar invested). This is to show the various opportunities available at different price points, as some products may save a great quantity, but have a large upfront cost. The findings show that there are countless products available to help homeowners save resources and capital at various price points to choose from.
