Maternal mortality is a public health issue that requires an adaptable approach on personal, community and governmental levels to address its challenges. About 700 women die each year as a result of pregnancy or its complications (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), 2020). There are a number of factors contributing to this mortality. According to Crear-Perry et al., the US health care system suffers from financial barriers to care, a shortage of primary care providers, and important gaps in the quality of care (Crear-Perry, et al., 2021). The purpose of this social marketing campaign is to increase utilization of prenatal screening services in low-income neighborhoods.
