Gildan is one of the world's largest vertically integrated apparel manufacturers, where I had the opportunity to dive into the dynamic field of sustainability within the textile industry. As a Sustainability Intern, I gained hands-on experience with key aspects of sustainability efforts and reporting in a major public corporation.

In this role, I worked closely with the ESG team to prepare Gildan’s 2023 ESG report. My responsibilities included proofreading, referencing, and ensuring narrative consistency, all essential to delivering an accurate and timely report. Additionally, I contributed to the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) questionnaire by developing a tracker and collaborating with Subject Matter Experts to gather precise and relevant data. I also engaged in research projects, benchmarking practices, and analyzing upcoming regulations to better position the company for future compliance.

This internship significantly broadened my understanding of corporate sustainability, emphasizing the importance of evolving reporting standards and the vital role of stakeholder engagement in shaping ESG strategies
