Charles Billon Compugen Climate Action Internship

As a climate action administrator intern at Compugen, I was responsible for onboarding Sweep, a carbon accounting software. I used Sweep to calculate Compugen's national carbon footprint. I collected various data, such as utility bills and procurement expenses, collaborating with diverse departments internally. I calculated scope 1,2 and 3 carbon emissions, successfully representing a carbon profile that is as comprehensive as possible. At the end of my intership, I presented our greenhouse gas inventory progress to the executive team, providing recommendations on possible paths to take to reduce our carbon footprint and/or improving our sustainability practices. I also conducted an industry benchmark research to identify common sustainability practices across the tech industry to bettter inform my recommendations.

Besides onboarding Sweep and calculating Compugen's carbon footprint, I was also a member of Compugen's green team, our internal sustainability team. We improved Compugen's waste and recycling practices by acquiring standardized waste receptacles and starting to compost our organic waste as well.
