Nodules is a vocal pathology in which symmetrical lumps rise along the inner edge of the vocal folds. Symptoms include hoarseness, vocal fatigue, decreased flexibility and range, etc., and the causes range, from dehydration and reflux, to vocal abuse such as speaking too low or too loudly. The cures include voice therapy, and in extreme cases, surgery. As voice teachers, it’s significant to learn about nodules and know its symptoms, causes, and cures, in the case of possibly detecting this disorder in students and helping them overcome it.
