Technology has become beneficial in police departments leading to the creation of body-worn cameras. A few states have tested the device to analyze any improvements in police activity and have eventually mandated it. With New York being one of the few states to continue a body-worn camera program, I analyzed the differences in reports for certain years. In this presentation I will breakdown New York state’s citywide reports on stop & frisks, complaints, and use of force. These are the common reports that The Civilian Complaint Review Board receives throughout the years.
