One of the greatest challenges for English teachers is inspiring academic engagement for students who are resistant to reading and writing. In TEP 435, English Methods, we explored various methodologies and pedagogies of reading and writing in order to encourage student engagement and overcome their disenchantment with reading, which is often caused by poor or outdated curriculum requirements. This group video presentation will include literacy engagement strategies for various aged students. It will also show our passion and purpose for teaching reading and writing to our future students as aspiring high school English educators. The information in this presentation will be applicable for students, parents and peer educators.
