Pitching a New Musical: A Multimodal Essay for ENGL 1101

This poster showcases a multimodal project from Dr. Elliott's English 1101 course: "Who Tells Your Story?": Musicals and American History. The project requires students, in small groups, to create a full concept for a new musical based on adapted materials. Vitally important to the project are students' understanding of audience (here, potential producers), ethos (how to use research, effective writing/communication to prove their expertise and ability), and genre (how to the meet the expectations of this specific type of document).
