Intro/ A little about me:
Hi! My name is Muhammad Ibraheem. I was born and brought up in Pakistan for 19 years, but in 2019 I came to Canada for my University as a domestic student. I am in my fourth year at UTM, studying Digital Enterprise Management. I am looking forward to being your mentor this year!
When I started at UTM, I was enrolled in Commerce. However, I struggled in the initial stages of my University. Therefore, I changed my direction and applied for DEM. Being self-aware made me realize that I wasn't managing my time properly and lacked a proactive approach towards my assignments when I was in Commerce. Fortunately, I realized this pretty early and made the necessary changes. Therefore, it allowed me to perform well in my DEM courses.
The change in the mindset led to a boost in confidence, allowing me to also focus on extracurricular activities as well. I was able to work for DEM Association as a marketing associate and attend several networking events around campus.
Thus, changing my approach toward academics and being mindful of how I spent my time had a domino effect. It allowed me to achieve personal growth as an individual and a professional.
Besides being a student, I am an Apparel Manufacturer by profession. On the other hand, I am also a fitness content creator on Instagram. I am an aspiring entrepreneur and started my clothing brand in Pakistan last year. It allowed me to learn how apparel manufacturing is done.
Moreover, in my free time, I like to work out at the gym and play squash(A sport I have been playing since I was 12), read books, travel, and spend time with my family and especially with my one-year-old niece!
My Goal:
I aim to help second-year ICCIT students by answering their questions regarding DEM as a program. But, on the other hand, I also aim to facilitate you and put you in a position where you can grow both as an individual and a professional. It is an honour to be a part of this mentorship program, as it allows me to give back to the community and the students on campus.
I plan on hosting one -one and group sessions based on important topics such as time management, proactivity, networking, helpful applications, extracurricular and much more. From a personal experience, I believe these are some essential topics which play a vital role in enhancing your University experience.
So if you have any questions about the University or want to chat, you can reach out to me. You can email me, book an appointment or join my drop-in session( Wednesday 1-2 pm & Sat 1-2 pm).
