Shahmir Akhter

Hey!

My name is Shahmir, which you definitely already knew if you made it this far lol. I'm a fourth year in the Computer Science and CCIT majors. I'm returning to school off of a 13 month long PEY Co-Op placement as a DevOps Developer at Johnson Controls. Alongside my ICCIT Mentorship Position, I'm also a TA for CSC108 and I'm currently in an ROP investigating different methods for indoor positioning. When I'm not working on any of those things, I'll be hanging out with friends, at the gym, or probably re-reading One Piece for the millionth time. 
 

My goal for this mentorship position is to try to help people get through what was, for me, the toughest academic year. I think a lot of people don't experience what UTM can offer to the fullest and my goal is to help others get the most out of their university experience.
