  • Did you know that the clothing and textile industry is the second largest polluter in the world? A textile manufacturing firm in India generates approximately 6000 meters of surplus fabric which is enough to produce 2000 dresses. All this fabric ends up in landfills. Now that’s one big problem, but the second pressing issue is that 87 million women in India are living in extreme poverty. The third problem that we are tackling is that young Canadian designers struggle to compete with high-end couture and fast fashion brands.

In light of these three issues, we bring you UNfabricated, a socially and environmentally sustainable e-commerce fashion and home brand. Leveraging family business background in textiles for over 30 years, we at Unfabricated, up-cycle i.e. we reuse the surplus fabric to create new fashion and home products. All of our products are handcrafted by women artisans of India. Currently, we are working on a program to onboard young Canadian designers to design for the North American market.
