    The Graduate and Professional Studies’ Programs in Nursing strive to provide students with flexible and affordable The Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) Program at Wheeling University offers an RN• MSN program and two major MSN tracks: Family Nurse Practitioner and Nursing Administration. Post-graduate certificates are also offered in these areas for students who already completed an MSN degree.

    The programs are fully online and clinical rotations can be completed in your local community. Clinical experience requirements for the MSN degree meet or exceed the requirements of national credentialing organizations. Upon graduation, students are qualified to sit for the appropriate certification examination.

    The baccalaureate degree program in nursing, master’s degree program in nursing, and post-graduate APRN certificate program at Wheeling University are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (http://www.ccneaccreditation.org).

     

    RN to BSN/MSN

    Especially designed for the motivated adult learner and working registered nurse, the Wheeling University RN to BSN/MSN program is offered in an online-based distance format, with clinical rotations completed in the student’s home community. There are two tracks available within the program: The RN-BSN is intended for students who are already registered nurses and want to finish their BSN. Students in the RN-MSN track take four required MSN classes affording them the ability to earn their BSN and get a head start on their MSN. Once the student applies and is accepted into the MSN program, only courses specific to the MSN track of choice need to be completed. Since RN-BSN/MSN students are required to complete core classes, a course plan will be created for them that will include the classes they need to take at WU to complete their BSN.

     

    Post-Master’s Nursing Certificate

    The online Post-Master’s Certificate Program at Wheeling University provides nurses with MSN degrees an opportunity to acquire specialized skills in another area of nursing. Certificates are
    offered for Family Nurse Practitioner and Nursing Administration.

    Students must have an MSN degree and current licensure as a registered nurse to be eligible to
    apply. All courses are fully online_ Clinical rotations are completed in the student’s local community.
