The Mary Black School of Nursing, accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) is one of the Southeast's highly regarded nursing institutions offering a four-year degree. The school has a rich history in the area. From the University founding in 1967, with the mission to provide an associate degree to prepare registered nurses, to the initiation 30 years later of one the first RN to BSN degree programs in the state offering distance learning classes for registered nurses, USC Upstate has earned a solid reputation as an innovator in nursing education.

The Mary Black School of Nursing currently offers three degree programs:

Traditional Bachelor of Science in Nursing

The traditional Bachelor of Science in Nursing is a four-year track for students who wish to begin a career in professional nursing. Students begin their academic studies by completing general education requirements prior to their first nursing courses.

Dual Degree in Biology and Nursing

RN to BSN

The RN to BSN track allows working RN's to spend one day a week on coursework in classrooms at the Greenville campus or through online courses. 

Master of Science in Nursing

The Mary Black School of Nursing offers the Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program with concentration areas of Nursing Education, Nursing Leadership and Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL). Detailed information regarding each MSN concentration can be located within the Graduate Student Handbook.
