As the national professional organization of more than 11,000 nurse leaders, the American Organization for Nursing Leadership (AONL) is the voice of nursing leadership. Previously known as the American Organization for Nurse Executives (AONE), the organization changed its name in 2019 to better align with its core mission and vision. Promoting Professional Development for Nurse Leaders

Education.

AONL advances the professional development of nurse leaders through innovative and competency-based learning experiences. Serving nurse leaders at all stages of their career journey, AONL offers in-person and online programs for executives, directors, managers and clinical leaders. Topics include health care finance, certification review courses, shared governance and emerging leader competencies. Each year, AONL’s annual meeting draws thousands from the nurse leader community and features more than 50 sessions as well as nationally renowned keynote speakers.
