  • The National Academy of Dermatology Nurse Practitioners (NADNP) was created in 2011 by Dr. Shelby who organized a group of advanced practice nurse practitioners to join together to address unmet needs in the areas of nurse practitioner education, research, networking and professional support in providing dermatology care for the general population.

The American College of Dermatology Nurse Practitioners (ACDNP) was created in 2014 as a not-for profit organization that focuses on charity and funding for needs identified in the clinical, educational, and community settings. This organization also recognizes outstanding nurse practitioners who contribute to the field of dermatology.

    NADNP Specialized Practice Societies

NADNP recognizes the multiple dimensions of dermatologic care of the patient. The National Society of Medical Aesthetic Practitioners and the National Society of Wound Care Practitioners were created in 2017 as a result of identified needs and deficits in education and certification by peers and colleagues practicing in the art of medical aesthetics and wound care. It serves as a collaboration between all disciplines and includes Physicians, NPs, PAs, Registered Nurses and Aestheticians to offer comprehensive education and training.
