Coalition of Muslim Women of KW

Founded by a handful of Muslim women from diverse backgrounds in 2010, Coalition of Muslim Women of KW (CMW) is a charitable organization empowering women and girls to be leaders and change makers. CMW provides opportunities for personal and professional growth, and leadership and skills development for women while addressing issues of gender-based violence, racism, discrimination and Islamophobia through innovative programming and services, partnerships and collaboration, and advocacy and outreach.

We have events and programs where our volunteers and students can contribute their services and time.

2. Hate Incidents and Discrimination Reporting System: The Coalition of Muslim Women (CMW) has launched a hate reporting system/tool for the Waterloo region. Anyone who has experienced or witnessed a hate incident or faced discrimination because of racism, Islamophobia or xenophobia (anti-immigrant sentiment) can now report it and seek one-on-one support. The hate incident can be reported online at ReportingHate.ca 
   Alternatively, reporting can also be done by email, phone call, text message, audio message, video message or even Whatsapp. It can be reported in any of the 10 available languages.
